Clinical Practice in India – What FMGs Should Know

✍️ By Unknown Author

Transitioning from foreign medical education to clinical practice in India can be challenging.

Patient load in India is significantly higher, requiring quick decision-making and efficient communication. Language can also be a barrier, especially in rural settings.

FMGs should focus on improving clinical skills, including history taking, examination, and basic procedures. Observing experienced practitioners can be highly beneficial.

Understanding local disease patterns is also important. Conditions like tuberculosis, dengue, and other infectious diseases are more prevalent.

Adaptability is key. With time and experience, FMGs can become highly competent clinicians in the Indian healthcare system.
